The Mario Mosaic

In celebration of the Mario Lemieux Foundation’s 25th Anniversary, add your photo to the new version of The Mario Mosaic, a fan-driven, interactive photo experience honoring Pittsburgh Penguins legend Mario Lemieux and his evolution from player to owner to philanthropist.

Since the original Mario Mosaic debuted in 2010, the Pittsburgh Penguins and their fans have created many new memories, including two incredible Stanley Cup Championships in 2016 and 2017!  Penguins fans and Lemieux Foundation supporters will now have the opportunity to add photos from these last eight years to a new version of the mosaic, The Mario Mosaic 2.0.

All photos from the original Mario Mosaic will be incorporated into the new mosaic.  If you submitted a photo for the original, it will be in the new version.  New photos will be added to create the new feature image.  Photos were used multiple times in the original mosaic, making nearly 10,000 individual photo locations available for this update.

For just a $66.00 donation to the Mario Lemieux Foundation, your photo will help create a 20’ x 8’ mosaic that pays tribute to the career of Pittsburgh Penguins legend and owner, Mario Lemieux.  An interactive online version is available at www.mariomosaic.com and the new mosaic will update as photos are submitted.  A final printed version of The Mario Mosaic 2.0 will be on permanent display in the Highmark Lobby of PPG Paints Arena and will be unveiled during the 2018-19 Pittsburgh Penguins season.

Your contribution will support Mario’s greatest passion – giving back to the community through the Mario Lemieux Foundation’s cancer research and patient care projects, as well as Austin’s Playrooms, an initiative that creates playrooms for children and families in medical facilities.
