The Mario Lemieux Foundation partners with Small Town Hope, Inc. to create a health and education focused treehouse in Cambria County, PA

Northern Cambria, PA. January 9, 2018 – The Mario Lemieux Foundation is partnering with Small Town Hope, Inc., a non-profit organization focused upon the health and wellness of children, to establish an Austin’s Playroom in northern Cambria County. The playroom will be constructed as an 800 square foot treehouse on a rural plot of land in Susquehanna Township, Cambria County. Small Town Hope, Inc. is dedicated to improving the health conditions of children through educational programs in a fun location like a treehouse. Small Town Hope will operate the facility and provide programming Monday – Saturday throughout the year. The facility is expected to open later this year.

“I am proud to be a part of Small Town Hope because we are changing hearts and minds of all the children we interact with one day at a time.  There are several programs and activities, which Small Town Hope generates, and Austin’s Playroom is an enormous part of that.  We are so grateful to be partnering with the Mario Lemieux Foundation to allow children of all ages to experience the security of a safe environment with a fantastic atmosphere located within a rural community.  Thank you Mario Lemieux Foundation for making this dream a reality so all the children can benefit!  (Katie Toole – Board Chair of Small Town Hope).
