Mario Lemieux Foundation and Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation Announce Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run and Family Walk Presented by Highmark on October 15

PITTSBURGH — July 18, 2017 — The Mario Lemieux Foundation and Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation announced today that the Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run and Family Walk presented by Highmark will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017.

All proceeds benefit the cancer research and patient care initiatives of the Mario Lemieux Foundation, as well as the youth initiatives of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.

The 6.6K run will begin and end at PPG Paints Arena, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.  A 3.3K Family Walk (2.05 miles), will also be offered to individuals and groups of four.  Registration for both distances includes a long-sleeve tech shirt, virtual gift bag, and finishing medal.

Participants can choose to join the Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Fundraising Team and win unique Penguins prizes while raising additional funds for the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and the Mario Lemieux Foundation. There are also volunteer opportunities available for race day.
