Mario Lemieux Foundation And Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation Announce Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run And Family Walk Presented By Consol Energy On October 5

PITTSBURGH — July 22, 2014 — The Mario Lemieux Foundation and Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation announced today that the Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run and Family Walk, presented by CONSOL Energy, will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2014.  All proceeds benefit the cancer research and patient care initiatives of the Mario Lemieux Foundation, as well as the youth hockey initiatives of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.

The 6.6K Run (4.1 miles) will begin and end at CONSOL Energy Center and run through Pittsburgh streets.  A One-Mile Walk will also be offered to individuals and families at a discounted rate. Walkers are permitted to walk the 6.6K course, but must maintain a 20-minute mile pace. All participants will receive a medal at the completion of their event.

Additionally, post-race, all race registrants will be granted access to CONSOL Energy Center using their race bib for a Pittsburgh Penguins open practice.
