The 2016 Mario Lemieux Fantasy Hockey Camp will take place in January/February 2016 in Pittsburgh, PA. The Mario Lemieux Fantasy Hockey Camp strives to give campers an NHL hockey experience on and off the ice, as well as provide an opportunity to personally interact with some of the biggest names in hockey history. Players and coaches from previous camps include Mario Lemieux, Paul Coffey, Mark Recchi, Bill Guerin, Gary Roberts, Bryan Trottier, Larry Murphy, Theo Fleury, Rick Tocchet, Alexei Kovalev, Pierre Turgeon, Michel Goulet , Clark Gillies, Pierre Larouche, Curtis Joseph, Randy Hillier, Eddie Johnston, Jay Caufield and Tie Domi.

2014 Fantasy Camp team captains had a combined 35 Stanley Cups, 57 All-Star Game appearances and over 4,700 goals and 11,000 points scored in the NHL. Campers are drafted into four teams, each featuring two celebrity team captains and a head coach. Mario Lemieux rotates from team to team during the round-robin tournament play.


2015 Camp Highlights:

  • Five games and practice session on the ice at CONSOL Energy Center, the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
  • Two Pittsburgh Penguins games in luxury suite.
  • Evening entertainment functions at Hofbrauhaus in Pittsburgh’s South Side and Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino.
  • Contract signing with Mario Lemieux in the media room at CONSOL Energy Center.
  • Autograph session with Mario Lemieux, celebrity team captains and coaches.
  • Commemorative framed piece featuring a “Draft Photo” with Mario Lemieux and a team photo.

Nearly $800,000 has been raised through the Mario Lemieux Fantasy Hockey Camp to benefit the Mario Lemieux Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to raising funds for cancer research and patient care, as well as Austin’s Playroom Project, which creates playrooms for children and families in medical facilities.
